How far is the villa from town?
The Puget-sur-Argens village itself is a 7-8 km drive (10 minutes). You will find there basic shops as the baker’s, the butcher’s, the chemist’s, the newspapers seller’s, cafés, a Leader Price supermarket and a Carrefour supermarket (named Carrefour Market)… The best stores for your daily shopping are Carrefour hypermarket and its commercial centre, i.e. a 10-km drive from La Lieutenante (15 minutes). The Carrefour hypermarket offers an impressive choice of food products at very reasonable prices. The commercial centre comprises a McDonalds where you can take your kids to, retail shops and stores as Cultura, Darty, Boulanger, Castorama, Go sport, Kiabi where you will easily find anything you need.
Colourful open-air markets are organised several times a week in Puget-sur-Argens, Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël and in the surrounding villages.

Is there place to boat or waterski?
If you feel like going to a nice sand beach, I recommend you the one that is between Fréjus and Saint-Aigulf, on the D 559 road. This long sand beach is just a 16-km drive from La Lieutenante (25 minutes). You will enjoy there sunbathing on white sand, swimming in clear water, windsurfing, jet skiing, having lunch or dinner in front of the beach
Are the surroundings of Puget beautiful ?
Picturesque villages, with nice restaurants and terraces are within easy reach in the Moors by car: Bagnols-en-Forêt, Saint-Paul-en-Forêt, Fayence, Callian, Montauroux, Tourrettes, Seillans, Roquebrune-sur-Argens. Scenic roads will take you to these places.
Are there places to visit and excursions to go on ?
* Saint-Tropez, with its picturesque narrow streets, its 18th century church and bell tower, its terrace cafés, its old port with world class yachts and the lovely Annonciade museum (Paul Signac, Braque, Matisse, Utrillo, Van Dongen, Bonnard, Dufy).
* Grimaud and Port-Grimaud, both in the gulf of Saint-Tropez (a day excursion). While Grimaud is a charming medieval village nestled in the Moors mountains, Port Grimaud is a modern, original and lively version of Venice on the French Riviera.
* The Domaine du Rayol, also known as the Jardin botanique du Rayol. This botanical garden and arboretum is located in Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer (between Cavalaire-sur-Mer and Le Lavandou). It is listed as a « jardin remarquable » by the Committee of Parks and Gardens of the Ministry of Culture of France. It is a day trip that is worth a guided tour.
* The Verdon gorge – a river canyon that is one of Europe’s most beautiful -, the artificial lake of Sainte-Croix and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie (a day trip). Moustiers-Sainte-Marie is considered as one of the most beautiful villages of France. It is famous for its magnificent crockery and pieces of earthenware.
* If you feel like going on an excursion in the hinterland of Nice and in Upper Provence (Haute-Provence), the “train des Pignes”, a railway more than a century old, will take you from Nice to Annot and even to Digne-les-Bains (the terminus, in the Alpes de Haute-Provence), following up the valley of the river Var and going through and over 50 tunnels, bridges and viaducts! Annot, the eleventh stop on this narrow-gauge railway that climbs up to an altitude of 1000 metres, is a small and charming medieval village. It is a day trip from Nice. Digne-les-Bains, famous for its lavender fields and its thermal springs, is a two-day trip from Nice. The “train des Pignes” belongs to Chemins de fer de Provence. From May to October, on Sundays, the service is provided, on a section of the track (from Puget-Théniers to Annot), on board carriages more than a century old, towed by an authentic steam locomotive, listed as a historical monument!
* Nice, the capital of the French Riviera. It is always a pleasure to get back to the old town (Vieux Nice), to the port, or wander on the seaside promenade! Do not hesitate to visit the Matisse museum, the Marc Chagall museum, the Nice Fine Arts Museum, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Russian orthodox cathedral of Saint-Nicholas, the Cours Saleya, the Nice Opera, the Promenade des Anglais and the flower market.
* The exquisite Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and the superb Villa Kerylos in Beaulieu-sur-Mer (a day excursion).
